Bollywood’s Mr. Perfectionist is keen to make a film on the Mahabharata in which he want to play the role of Lord Krishna.
As Aamir took a break from his hectic shoot of Three Idiots, to celebrate the unprecedented success of Ghajini, he told media-persons that he would like to consider Mahabharata as a project.
“Mahabharata is a story that is very close to my heart. I want to do a film for sure, but not at this moment because you need to do full justice to that. When you are making a film on the Mahabharata, you cannot afford to make mistakes. One has to be very careful, and at the moment, I don’t have the guts.”
Then comes the inevitable question - what character would he like to play if he made the Mahabharata?Aamir Says, “…the best role for me would be that of Lord Krishna’s.”
Unfortunately, divinity will have to wait, because as of now Aamir is considering Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s offer of playing the great actor-director Guru Dutt in an upcoming project. And given the brownie points ROM’s Rang De Basanti got him, Aamir may just accept the offer.
Here is hoping that at least “Lord Krishna” or “Guru Dutt” will get us an Oscar for sure!
